Dress: Halston Heritage

I kept it simple, in this silk faille tulip skirt dress, but chose to add a pop of color and sparkle for my dear cousin’s formal wedding in NYC. I love the fit of this Halston Heritage dress! I feel like a prima ballerina every time I put it on.

Own this dress here.

Rent it here.

Jacket: H&M

This jacket was the ultimate find! The large black round sequins and the heavy black fishnet material had me at first sight! I can’t wait to show off the multiple ways to style and wear this beautiful and affordable jacket! It’s such a great piece to play around with.

Shoes: Manolo Blahnik

The bright blue color of this shoe paired with the baby pink of the dress might at first seem a little unconventional… But “well-behaved women rarely make history” so when I first purchased the dress, I knew, before I even bought the shoes, that I wanted a bright colored shoe in the complete opposite hue and color of the dress.¬† This Manolo Blahnik “Hangisi” satin pump (you may recognize this shoe made famous on the “Sex in the City” movie) was the first and only shoe that popped into my mind! I had to have it to complete the vision that was stuck in my mind. And… If I don’t say so myself… I think if paired beautifully with the dress and jacket!

Don’t be afraid to take risks in life and in fashion, the end result will be well worth it! Become you’re own trendsetter.

Suit: Banana Republic

For Aakomon’s small waist and broad shoulders this double breasted, peak lapel navy blue linen suit is PERFECTION!

Frames: Oliver Peoples

Dress Shirt: Trashness

Shoe: Aldo “Velinia” men’s dress shoe

This rich mahogany brown leather slipper dress shoe is divine when paired with this navy suit.¬† This style shoe is so versatile he had to have it in black too! So, shop away fellas because this beautiful shoe wont break the bank. It’s great with a suit (as shown here), a shirt & slacks, and/or worn casually with jeans.

Neck tie: Bloomingdales

Pocket Square: Peckham Rye

Lapel Pin: Bloomingdales

I love menswear… Especially when a man wears it as well as this! All of the small details really pull this look together and make it stylish, modern, cool, and oh so sexy. Paying attention to choose the perfect tones of navy blue for each element of this look makes all the difference and is important when pulling off a monochromatic look. Most importantly the fit of this suit makes it look more expensive than it’s actual cost. Proper tailoring in men’s suiting, and menswear in general, is the difference between looking like a GQ magazine cover and an ad for K&G Men’s Clothing Store (nothing against K&G… but you know what I mean).
