Top: Vivienne Westwood
Pants: ICONS – “Objects of Devotion” Resurrected in Los Angeles – my top five favorite pants!
I also love this mechanic jumpsuit by the same designer.
Shoes: Dr. Martens – “Jadon” 8 Eye Boot
I’ve always loved and worn Dr. Martens but these with the platform sole are wicked!
Handbag: Phillip Lim
This top, pant, and shoes have been my ‘go to’ pieces this fall. You all probably know I’m a feign for denim shirts, jackets, and jumpers so when I tried this on at the Vivienne Westwood store on Melrose Ave. I had to have it – lol! The tailoring on this denim shirt is super feminine and the I like that they chose to do it in dark blue denim. This shirt can also be worn open as a jacket which made me love it eeeeven more because versatility is key! The pant worn in this post is a deconstructed, remixed, tailored vintage military pant that I purchased from Barney’s but you could easily make these yourself. Get a pair of military pants from the army surplus or second hand store and tailor these yourself or take them to your neighborhood tailor. The great thing about these pants is that they are baggy in the leg with a fitted high-waist, so you get both sexy feminine and tomboy all in one pant. I wear this pant paired with tees, tanks, and denim shirts in the fall with boots (as shown in this post) and in the summer with sandals (see below).
Bottom: Vintage Levi’s Jeans
Finding the right pair of jeans with the perfect fit is a constant struggle… so I’m always on the hunt! I found my first favorite pair at a vintage store on Melrose Ave. They were a button fly, in a light wash (like the ones pictured here), with a slight bell leg and perfectly distressed and positioned holes in the knees. When I tried them on they were soft already and they fit to perfection, which never happens! Best part is they were $20!!! The pair I’m wearing in this post, I found in an Urban Outfitters. They don’t fit as perfect as my ‘faves’ but they are a tid bit more of a relaxed fit which I like a lot and was missing in my wardrobe. I also adore the distressing of the hem and the length.
Shoes: Fenty by Puma
These boots are the perfect combination of sexy/sporty/chic. If you’re a tomboy who still likes to strut ’round town occasionally in a stiletto, then these are a must have! These boots are reminiscent of the stiletto ‘Timberlands’ by Manolo Blahnik, made famous by Beyonce in her ’03 Bonnie & Clyde music video, feat. Jay-Z. I had a pair of those too – Ha! Lol! The soft leather and high quality hardware are top notch for a heel by Puma – thanks Rihanna 😉 – which warrants the high price tag. One of my favorite parts of this shoe is the circular barbell piercing on the zipper – so bad ass! I love pairing these with day dresses paired with funky feminine socks (ie. Rihanna’s socks for Stance). I would also recommend wearing these with a basic or graphic tee, ‘boyfriend’ jeans, and a fitted leather biker jacket in black or a bright/uncommon color.
Handbag: StatementsStudio – Prism Gloss Backpack
If you’re at all familiar with Issey Miyake then you will recall this unique prism style paneling and you love just as much as I do. Issey Miyake handbags are quite expensive… but have no fear! The backpack handbag featured in this post is a less expensive version so you too can get the look!
