A Walk Among Tombs

While visiting New Orleans a couple of years ago Aakomon and I sneaked into this beautiful cemetery in the French Quarter. It was closed that day and the gates were chained and locked… but that didn’t stop us! When the ‘coast was clear’ we scaled the tall cement wall fencing in the perimeter, hopped on top of a large crypt shaped kind of like a house, then jumped down from the short roof  – We were in! It was exciting and scary at the same time but once we were over the wall and now inside the cemetery there was no going back. I thought I would be creeped out walking among the crypts and mausoleums of lost loved ones but it was comforting and calming in a weird way… it’s hard to describe really. I see why the cemeteries in New Orleans are considered tourist attractions with the the elaborate above ground crypts and the history of the dead now residing in these holy resting places. If you’re in the New Orleans area I would NOT suggest sneaking into a cemetery like we did – lol – but I would recommend taking a tour .

Dress: Pjk (Patterson J. Kincaid) X Man Repeller

Jacket: Cropped Leather Moto by Zara Woman

Here’s a similar leather jacket by Zara that I love.

Shoes: Converse X Commes de Garcon

Handbag: Marc Jacobs

Here’s an alternate color in this same bag that I like.

One of my favorite outdoor concert venues is The Hollywood Bowl! So, when my friend offered me her extra ticket to the annual PlayBoy Jazz Festival, I couldn’t refuse! What I love about the Hollywood Bowl is the open outdoor seating, the “BYOB” and/or picnic basket allowance, and the musical acts this venue attracts are always impressive. It’s just a feel good, summer fun atmosphere – hence my #ootd is comfy but channels fun, flirty, girly energy with a slight tough edge.
